While You Were in Jail
By Karen Murphy
You crawl up and down the walls of my mind
Kicking, biting, and scratching
Making my headache worse
You're breaking my heart from the inside
Now no one can see i'm hurting
Memories i held close, torn to pieces
You leave me with nothing, less than i had before you
When the time comes, you'll dance on my grave
The same dance you did on my heart
i'm screaming:
"You're breaking my heart, you're breaking my heart"
You can see it, you feed off it, you love it
You're killing me
Slowly, taking me apart piece by piece
i strip down to nothing for your attention
You laugh and turn away, leaving me
Embarrassed, scrambling for shreds of decency
And i'm still waiting
